Richard W  - WA, Perth region | Star Wars - Top AnchorsHad a look at the Star Wars Anchors yesterday and it looks as though it's getting quite a lot of traffic - a good thing! Unfortunately as Ed mentioned in an earlier post the difficulty of the line will see it getting many top rope ascents. The bolts are already showing some minor (*Note - minor) wear! It would be appreciated if someone could put some D shackles or other apropriate gear on them to stop this happening. I won't be able to get to them now until after christmas. Thanks |

Yes Mike that would be nice. Unfortunately as we know there this is unlikely to happen. The time and energy to replace these rings is substantial so the simple fix is a couple of shackles. Further more Hilti 500 is bloody strong so having to replace them would be a mission. I would also like to mention that there are also always many people on this site willing to open their mouths but not willing to do much in the form of positive action. So once again if anyone has the time and a couple bucks to put up a couple shackles or someting else suitable it would be appreciated. Otherwise I will do it myself after christmas.

Surely penthouse and or hangten sees more traffic...
The rings are pretty chunky i'm sure where still light years away from that sort of everyday traffic other places over east or around the world see...

Due to it's steep nature the rings take the direct load and if there are fat ass's like me working it and not putting draws in, it won't take long to wear them. Just an observation from looking at the anchors. Oh to be your age, weight, and full of sperm like you Nick!
